It doesn't matter where I'm at or what I'm doing but I will notice people carrying a concealed weapon. Well, how's that hell is that if it's concealed? Because the individuals are inexperienced and "Print" their concealed weapon to the public. Printing is nothing more than having the outline of you pistol show through your clothes. This happens when you have a pistol and holster that doesn't conform to your style of clothing. Let me give you an example; You're wife wants to carry a pistol on her body NOT in her purse. She wears formfitting clothing. You only have a Glock 22 (.40 cal). She decides to put it on her hip and puts her shirt over the pistol and holster in an attempt to conceal the weapon. Now let's think about this for a minute…..Even though her shirt is over the pistol can you see an outline of it through the shirt. The answer is yes. When you carry a concealed weapon you are doing so to protect yourself and to hold in reserve the element of surprise. If you print your weapon than you loss the element of surprise. If the bad guy knows you have a weapon his tactics will vary. To prevent printing, utilize a pistol and holster that conforms to you style of clothing. If you wear baggy clothing, you can get away with a larger pistol and a larger holster. If you were snug clothes than you might want to look at carrying a compact/sub compact pistol and an in-the-pants holster.

Guns and Booze don’t mix…..or do they?

There is a growing controversy regarding among states regarding concealed weapons in bars and restaurants. Currently, South Carolina prohibits concealed weapons in any establishment that sell alcohol for on premise consumption. This is a two sided coin. On one hand, I get that guns and the presence of alcohol don't mix. That would be like night diving (suba diving) and drinking. It is a disaster waiting to happen. So I can understand that they want to keep guns away from establishments where people are drinking. However, if I take the family out to eat, I want to carry. Bottom-Line! I want to carry in Applebee's, Outback, etc… Obviously, you don't want to consume, but if I'm just going out to eat at a family restaurant, I want to carry.

Currently, there are eight states that prohibit concealed weapons in establishments that serve alcohol. South Carolina needs to adopt the Tennessee's mentality who recently decided to allow concealed weapon permit holders to carry concealed when they go out to eat. IT ONLY MAKES SENSE. Nobody want to be a victim, but with South Carolina's current legislation, people are victims because they are unable to defend themselves at a restaurant. I am not against banning weapons in establishments whose sole business is alchol (i.e. bars, clubs). However, I am a proponent of allows concealed carry owners the right to carry in a restaurant.

South Carolina Just Approved Guns on School Property

South Carolina just approved for indivduals to legally have a firearm on school property. Prior to this law, it was illegal to have a firearm on school proporty. With all the previous school shooting in the past decade I can see why a lot of people are worried.
